By installing an outdoor GPS tracker that operates for over two years on six AA batteries, the location information of the object is transmitted to the cloud via a gateway. It can be displayed on a dashboard, allowing for management and analysis. The communication method uses inexpensive LPWA, eliminating the need for new infrastructure. Management is possible in areas with mobile phone coverage, and logs can be obtained when out of range. There are already proven applications for managing logistics dollies within airports.
